#GetOutside Photo Scavenger Hunt Update

Need a reminder of what this is all about?  Go here.

I’ve created a page to list all of our scavenger hunt finds.

I’ll be updating the page weekly at least.

Here’s my favorite photo from this week:

Aiden is smelling the flowers.

Do you make the effort to get outside every day with your kids?
What obstacles stand in your way?
Could you commit to 5 minutes of daily outdoor play time with your kids as a start?

I think it’s important to spend time with our children outside so they can have an appreciation for the world around them.

Earth Day is April 22.  Do you need ideas for teaching your children about how to take care of the Earth?  Read this post and check out all of the bloggers who have linked up their Earth Day inspired ideas.

Need ideas for playing outside with your kids?
Here are my top 5:

  1. Search for animals and their homes.
  2. Go collect rocks or other nature objects (leaves, flowers, acorns…)
  3. Play in the wind.  Make ribbon sticks or parachutes.
  4. Play in the dirt.
  5. Go for a walk – no need to have any other intentions.  Just walk around the neighborhood or park.  You can talk about what you see and make observations as you go.
