Coding for Kids with New Themed Coding Kits from Kano

We have reviewed a few products from Kano before. We love the Kano Pixel Kit and Motion Sensor Kit as well as the Harry Potter Kano Coding Kit.

The new Stars Wars and Frozen 2 coding kits rely on the same drag and drop block coding as the regular Kano App. If you’re kids are familiar with Scratch, they will jump right in.

If your kids are new to coding, the Kano coding kits will walk them through everything step by step. It’s a fantastic introduction to coding with special themes.

Kano Frozen 2 Coding Kit

The Kano Frozen 2 Coding Kit lets you control the elements through different games inspired by Frozen 2. My daughter, Lily, loves all things Frozen. This will be the perfect way to introduce her to coding. I plan on working on it with her as she is currently a kindergartner.

Kano recommends their products for ages 4 and up. If your child can read, he or she should be able to begin coding with assistance from you.

The first step is to assemble the wireless motion sensor following the instructions in the book. The book teaches you about the parts of the motion sensor as you put it together.

Download the app. Then, connect the motion sensor to your device. Follow the directions in the app to learn how to use the motion sensor. It lights up as you wave your hand over it. Your hand motions control the motion on the screen.

Next, take on Disney Frozen coding challenges. Connect code blocks, learn about loops, logic, and variables. Then make snowflakes, control blizzards and conjure your own ice palace.

Kano Star Wars The Force Coding Kit

The Kano Star Wars The Force Coding Kit is also a bluetooth enabled motion sensor. Start by following the instructions in the book to assemble your device.
