Out of This World Space Toys and Gifts for Kids

My family has a bit of an obsession with all things space. Yours, too?! My 7 year old says he wants to be a space scientist when he grows up. He has received a lot of space toys and gifts in the past few years. It can be difficult to find new and exciting (and good) space themed toys when you already have so many. Don’t worry I’m here to help you out. If you are looking for gifts for your future astronaut or fellow space enthusiast, then you are in the right place! Space Toys and Gifts for Kids

Pacific Play Tents Space Station Tent and Tunnel Combo – Pacific Play Tents sent us this for review. The space station includes a tent and 4 tunnels. It was super easy to set up. I love how big it is. My kids are having so much fun with it!

There’s room for several kids to play comfortably together. This Space Station is good for both the indoors and outdoors. It has a waterproof floor. We can set the tent and tunnels up separately as well.

Pacific Play Tents recommends this product for ages 2 and up. My 1 year old had fun crawling through the tunnels, too.

LEGO City Utility Shuttle – We bought this space shuttle for Aiden’s 6th birthday. He had a space themed birthday, so this was the perfect gift from us.

LEGO City Spaceport Building Kit – If you’re looking for a bigger LEGO set, consider this one. The space shuttle is larger than the set above and it comes with a launch pad. Awesome!

LEGO City Space Starter Set or Space Utility Vehicle – These two sets make a good companion to other LEGO space sets. The starter set comes with a Mars rover buggy, astronaut minifigure, 3 additional minifigures, computer station, and accessories. The space utility vehicle is just the space vehicle and an astronaut.

Magformers – These magnetic building toys are not space themed but my space crazed kids build rockets with them all the time. There are several different sized sets at different price points, so shop around for the amount you want. They also regularly go on sale. They do have a space episode set that looks pretty neat.

Skywatcher Telescope, Traditional Dobsonian 8 inch – We researched telescopes for a while before settling on this one. We wanted to get a good quality starter telescope that wasn’t crazy expensive. There are some really fabulous ones out there but you have to pay a lot for them. This one does a wonderful job. It’s not cheap, but it doesn’t break the bank either.

Discovery Kids Starlight Lantern – My kids think this LED lantern is super cool. It shines stars on the ceiling or it can be used as a lantern.

Melissa & Doug Space Voyage Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle – We love Melissa and Doug wooden puzzles. Here’s a fun space themed puzzle. Recommended for ages 4-6.

Discovery Space Center Kid's Wooden Playscape Set with Accessories from Hape  - The St. Louis Science Center has this cool rocket play set in their Discovery Room. My kids had a blast moving the figures around and pretending to be astronauts. It's a great alternative to a doll house. Recommended for ages 3 and up.

Hape Four Stage Toddler Rocket Ship Playset - Here's another rocket playset from Hape. This one has a recommended age of 12 months and up, so it would be great for toddlers, too.

HEXBUG nano Space Cosmic Command - There are actually 3 price points for the space themed HEXBUG sets plus the VEX Discovery set.

Safari Ltd Space TOOB - We love Safari Ltd figures. (They've sent us several over the years.) We don't have this set but it's on my son's request list.

Safari Ltd Safariology The Solar System - They also have figures of the 8 planets and the Sun. We purchased this set from the St. Louis Science Center and used it in our solar system sensory bottle.
