Valentine Heart Confetti Sensory Bottle
Here’s a super simple Valentine’s Day themed sensory activity. Make a Valentine Heart Confetti Sensory Bottle. Shake it to hear the sounds of the confetti moving around. Look for the different items hidden among the red hearts. Feel the motion of the hearts moving through the tube. I get commissions for purchases made through the affiliate links in this post.

Supplies Needed to Make the Valentine’s Day Sensory Bottle
- sensory tube (ours was given to us by Learning Resources) or empty plastic container (read below for example ideas)
- heart confetti (I found ours at Hobby Lobby)
- mini erasers or other small items to hide among the confetti
How to Make the Valentine’s Day Sensory Bottle
I used a sensory tube from Learning Resources. You can buy them in a set of 4 tubes or they come in some of the their lab or activity kits. We have the Primary Science Deluxe Lab Set. It comes with 2 sensory tubes. Each sensory tube has two end caps that are solid and make the tube water tight. Each tube also comes with an end cap that has holes in it. This makes for a fantastic way to explore items that you want to smell but may not want to touch.
If you don’t have sensory tubes, you can use any plastic container really. The Voss water bottles (like we used for our Solar System Sensory Bottle) are a nice choice for their height and wide mouth opening as well. You could also a peanut jar or a water bottle.
Add the confetti hearts to the your plastic tube or bottle. If you don’t have confetti hearts, you can use small paper hearts. Look for a small heart shaped paper punch to make creating the paper hearts easier.
Add mini erasers or other small items to hide among the confetti. I picked up our mini erasers from the Target Dollar Spot. You could also use small animals like the Safari Ltd Good Luck Minis.
Place the lid on the sensory tube. Encourage your kids to shake the tube and see what they can find inside.
Can they find a unicorn?
Turn the tube upside down or roll it on the table. How many owls do they see?
Can you find something that starts with the letter c? Can you find something that is the color pink?
