Our Experience with the Minecraft Modding with Java Coding Course
My 10 year old chose the Minecraft Modding with Java Coding Course. After signing up for the course, I received an email confirmation. Later in the week, I received a welcome email with instructions for accessing the course and software to download.
The live lessons are conducted via Zoom. It allows students to share their screens so the instructor can easily provide feedback on what the students are doing.
After the live lesson is complete, the students can access the rest of the day’s lesson on iD Tech’s website.
The next day, the instructor checks in with the students regarding the work they completed on their own. Then, they begin the next day’s lesson.
The students get a 10 minute break in the middle of the lesson to stretch, relax, or troubleshoot their mods.
Aiden is thoroughly enjoying the Minecraft course. He was already familiar with coding in Scratch, but he had never coded in Java before. The instructor and offline lessons walked him through the steps to code the Minecraft mods.
They learned how to modify and create items, blocks, and tools.
Aiden’s favorite creation is a lightning hammer.
Online Private Lessons
You can also choose to take online private lessons and schedule at your convenience. Your child can bring a sibling or friend to the private class for free.
Topics include Java coding, Minecraft level design, Roblox, Game Design, AI, and several others.
