Super Hero Math: Number Vaults Game
It’s day 3 of Super Hero LEGO week! Today we have a super hero math game with number vaults. Help Batman and Robin capture the bad guy and return the number treasures to the correct vault. Our Super Hero LEGO sets were given to us by LEGO. You can read more about the Super Hero LEGO here. Affiliate links are included in this post.
Super Hero Math: Number Vaults Game
This was one idea I shared in the How to Add Learning to Super Hero LEGO Play post sponsored by LEGO. Aiden liked the idea and wanted to try it out. It was a big hit.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Super heroes and a bad guy – We used the LEGO Batboat Harbor Pursuit set (affiliate link)
- Treasure boxes and treasure
- Number vaults – We built 10 boxes with doors or windows out of LEGO. Then, we added numbers to each box. You could use pre-made boxes, containers, envelopes, or just have labeled piles.
- Math facts or equations to solve – Download math facts that involve addition or subtraction to equal numbers 1-10. Laminate or use contact paper to make them more durable.
How to Play
Build the number vaults. Make sure you have one vault for each number answer. If you use all of our math facts, you’ll need numbers 1-10.
We built 10 boxes in various styles and added windows or doors and a number label.
Next, the bad guy steals the math fact treasure. Cut up the math facts and place some in the treasure boxes. (Download our math facts here.) You can randomly choose math facts to use or you can specifically choose ones you want to work on. We also added some LEGO diamonds and gold coins to the treasure boxes.
As the bad guy is trying to escape, the super heroes swoop in and pursue him.
After the super heroes capture the bad guy, it’s time to return the treasure. Help Batman and Robin sort the math facts into the correct number vault.
In the picture above, 2+3 belongs to the 5 vault. Continue sorting the math facts from the treasure boxes. Then, you can play again. Fill the treasure boxes with new math facts and start all over. Play until your child is ready to stop.
