Spring Activities for Kids: Make a Wind Catcher

Make a Wind Catcher

I saw something similar while taking a walk through our neighborhood. I knew Aiden would love to make a wind catcher of his own. We selected items from Aiden’s nature collection. He loves to collect sticks, leaves, seed pods, acorns, pinecones, sweet gum balls, and especially rocks {see his rock collection}.

Spring Activities for Kids: Make a Wind Catcher

To make your own wind catcher, choose two sticks and an assortment of objects from nature. {We choose things that we find on the ground.} Cut various lengths of twine or string. Tie the two sticks together to form an X. Tie the nature objects to the sticks. Hang on a tree. Observe the objects as the wind catches them. Do they all behave the same way?
