Spooky Halloween Science Hangout
Science Sparks, Life at the Zoo, and I shared some spooky Halloween science fun in a live video chat. Spooky noises, ghosts, and a witch’s kitchen were all the centers of attention.

1) Emma from Science Sparks taught us how to make some spooky noises. What a fun way to play a trick on someone or a cool way to talk about sound production. Learn how to make some spooky noises here.
2) Maggy from Life at the Zoo talked about food science in making meringue ghosts. They would be a lovely party treat and fun science lesson. Learn how to make your own meringue ghosts here.
3) I showed my static electricity dancing ghost and bat. You can find the written instructions in this month’s Challenge and Discover: Halloween Science post.
4) I also shared a sneak peek of the science activity we are sharing for next week’s Virtual Book Club for Kids. October’s featured author is Nick Sharratt. We are exploring What’s in the Witch’s Kitchen? So far we’ve found goblin’s pee, rabbit plops, and ghost droppings. Check back on Monday to see what else we might find.
