Spider-Man Easter Basket
This #DisneyEaster shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. I made a Spider-Man Easter basket for Aiden this year. I just know he’ll love it.
Spider-Man Easter Basket
Each year I make Aiden a special Easter basket filled with non-candy items he’ll love. The basket itself is always a bucket of some sort. A bucket is perfect for carrying toys around or playing outside in the water or sand.
This year’s theme is Spider-Man. Aiden loves super heroes and Spider-Man is one of his favorites. He’s never seen the movies or even read the comics. He likes Spider-Man because of the toys he’s received and because his uncle likes him.
I found lots of great Spider-Man items to put in the Spider-Man bucket at Walmart. They have a whole section in their Easter aisles full of Disney character items.
Take a look at what I found on one of the shelves.
Here’s what I chose to put inside the bucket.
The LEGO Juniors is the “big gift” in the bucket (at around $12). Everything else was pretty inexpensive. I found the bubbles and magnetic activity set in the Easter aisle. The pencils and stickers were found in stationary. The puzzle and kite were found in toys at about $1 each. Aiden needs a new pair of sunglasses so I chose the red Spider-Man glasses (they also come in black or white).
Our Easter Traditions
In addition to a cool Easter basket, each year we do a few special things. We decorate eggs and have an egg hunt with our own unique twists.
We dye Easter eggs in the traditional way I remember from my childhood – with the egg dye in all of our coffee cups.
We always try new techniques for decorating eggs, too. Last year we painted paper-mache eggs in the style of different artists. See our artist-inspired Easter eggs here.
This year we made chalkboard spider web eggs – perfect for the Spider-Man Easter basket. Want a sneak peek?
Since Aiden was two, we’ve done Easter egg hunt map reading. I draw a map of the search area (usually inside our house) and mark where the eggs are hidden. Aiden has to use map reading skills to find the eggs. He loves this.
What are your Easter traditions? What do you put in your Easter baskets?
