Robot Science Activities
Did you know that this week is National Robotics Week? I have a wonderful collection of robot science activities to share. Science with Robots was our final theme for this year’s Storybook Science series. Each of the activities was inspired by a children’s book. Grab some paper and pencil to design your own robot. Check out all of the robot books and activities inspired by Robots, Robots Everywhere! from Great Family Reads.
When you’re building a robot, it’s a good idea to learn about troubleshooting your bot. This activity from From Engineer to Stay at Home Mom pairs well with Boy + Bot.
Personalize your robot kit by making a robot cat inspired by The Robot and the Bluebird. This idea is from Kid Minds.
Apply some robotics concepts to learn about how some robots use hydraulics to move. Build a hydraulics elevator inspired by Elevator Magic. Teach Beside Me has the details.
A screen-free coding activity for preschoolers is the perfect way to introduce coding to kids. We were inspired by Are You My Mother? for this activity.
After reading Go, Otto, Go!, try this launching robot rocket activity from To Be A Kid Again.
Read Pete the Cat: Robo-Pete and make a robot like Robo Pete the Cat. JDaniel4’s Mom shows us how.
