OREO Catapult Challenge
This #OREOSuperDunk post is sponsored by #CollectiveBias, Inc. and its advertisers. Do you like to dunk your OREO cookies in milk? We took the OREO Dunk Challenge to the next level and made an OREO catapult. Build a craft stick catapult and send those OREO cookies flying into a tall glass of milk.
OREO Catapult Challenge
I headed to our local Shop ‘n Save (find your local store here) to get a package of OREO cookies for the catapult challenge. What kind of OREO cookies are your favorite? My family prefers the original OREO cookies.
How to Build a Catapult
Supplies You’ll Need:
- Jumbo craft sticks (we used the colored ones)
- Rubber bands (we used small plastic hair ties, which are similar to loom bands)
Stack 6 crafts sticks together and wrap each end with a rubber band.
Stack 2 craft sticks together and wrap a rubber band around the end.
Separate the 2 craft sticks. Place the stack of 6 craft sticks between the 2 craft sticks.
Use 1 or 2 rubber bands to hold the catapult together. This will keep the 2 craft sticks from sliding away from the stack of 6.
You can experiment with the placement of the rubber bands and change how many craft sticks you use. How do these changes affect the design of your catapult? Can you send OREO cookies farther with one design over another?
Catapult the OREO Cookies
Set up a glass of milk to use as a target. Place the catapult near the glass. Launch the OREO cookies into the milk. Make adjustments to the placement of your catapult. Do you need to move it closer? Do you need to change how you are launching the OREO? Do you need to modify your catapult design?
Check out our video of the OREO catapult challenge. My kids are competing against each other to see who can dunk an OREO first. Can you beat their time?
Will You Accept the OREO Dunk Challenge?
