Magformers Sky Track Review
We were sent the 44 piece Magformers Sky Track set. It currently retails for $99.99 on the Magformers website. Amazon has an exclusive 54 piece set, which looks pretty similar to the set we have. I think it has some additional triangle pieces.
You can also get the 64 piece set from the Magformers website or from Target.com for $129.99. The 64 piece has some extra track pieces including a stop-go button and a seesaw.
We have purchased several Magformers sets over the years. My kids enjoy following the designs in the Magformers instruction booklets and they also love coming up with their own creations.
The inside of the box looks like this.
I let Aiden (age 8) be in charge of following the directions to assemble the Sky Track. There are more than 10 designs included in the instruction book. My son went through them one by one and built them all.
Lily (age 4) and Elon (age 2) watched as Aiden built the different tracks.
The Magformers Sky Tracks are recommended for ages 3+. The tracks fit together pretty easily. They utilize regular Magformers as their base. The magnetic bases use magnets to connect together. The tracks themselves are plastic. They sort of snap together, but really the pieces just sit next to each other and rely on the magnets below to keep everything together. The plastic track pieces are pretty thin, so be careful of destructive kids. They are not as durable as regular Magformers pieces.
Once a track was complete, the three of them took turns turning on the shuttle.
They excitedly watched the shuttle go around the track.
There were so many cool designs.
Look at this one that goes around a building.
Check out more of our experience in my Instagram highlights. You’ll see more videos of the tracks we created. Their favorite track was probably this one below with a really big hill. Click on the right arrow and click play to see the video.
