Make Your Own LEGO Travel Activity Case
Taking LEGO bricks on the go is easy with a LEGO travel activity case made possible by our sponsor Zuru’s Mayka Toy Block Tape. Use Mayka Tape to create 3 different versions of a LEGO travel case that’s perfect for road trips.
How to Make A LEGO Travel Activity Case
For each of the travel cases, you’ll first need to select a case. I used a small pencil box or a larger box that used to contain a marker activity set. You want to select a box with a large enough surface for your activity.
Travel Case 1: LEGO Brick Color Matching Activity
Choose a few different colors of Mayka Toy Block Tape. Cut strips of the Mayka Tape and attach it to your travel case. The Mayka Toy Block Tape makes this process super easy. If you don’t like where you placed the strip, just pull it up and move it. Mayka Tape is reusable. (It’s not recommended for painted walls.)
Place different colors of LEGO bricks inside the case. Encourage your child to match colored bricks to the toy block tape. Choose a LEGO from the case to match to a color of the Mayka Tape.
You could incorporate math into this activity by adding a die. Roll the die. The number on the die tells you how many LEGO bricks to add to the Mayka Tape.
You can also make patterns with the LEGO bricks.
Travel Case 2: LEGO Brick Name Activity
Use the Mayka Toy Block Tape to spell your child’s name and attach the Mayka Tape to your case. I chose a small pencil box for this travel activity case.
Place a variety of LEGO bricks inside the case. Encourage your child to build on top of his or her name.
I made a travel case with my 4 year old’s name on it, so she can work on practicing her name. My 8 year old asked for a box with his name on it, too. He liked that his name could be spelled with the toy block tape.
Travel Case 3: Create a Play Scene with Mayka Toy Block Tape
Use the Mayka Toy Block Tape to create a background (water, sky, grass, sand, building, etc.) inside your case. I chose a box that used to contain a marker activity set for this case.
Cut the toy block tape to size and attach to the case.
Add bricks to complete the scene.

The cool part about the Mayka Tape is that you can build sideways or even upside down. The LEGO travel activity case lets you take your LEGO bricks anywhere.
How will you build with your Mayka Tape?
