Exploring Volume – Summer Science for Kids
Summer’s here and it’s time to play. Add a little learning to playtime to help prevent summer brain drain. Check out the super cool summer science activities I’m sharing today on the Learning Resources blog. I’m a paid contributor and they sent us the supplies featured in the post. The volume and measuring activities are perfect for practicing basic science and math skills while having fun.
Exploring Volume – Cool Summer Science
My kids love any activity that involves water. Pouring water, dumping water, carrying water from one side of the yard to the other, or playing at the water table are all favorite water activities. Water play can easily be turned into a cool summer science activity. Use it to explore volume and practice measuring with a few simple tools.
I’m featuring the Primary Science Mix and Measure set (affiliate link) for today’s activity. It’s perfect for helping kids compare the volume of different containers.
We also had fun using the Primary Science Jumbo Test Tubes (affiliate link). These test tubes come in a set of 6 with a stand. They have lines on the test tubes, so it’s great for measuring practice as well.
I posed a few challenges to the kids. Aiden was super pleased that he solved this one.
