Craft Stick Domino Game
Have you gotten your copy of 101 Kids Activities That Are the Bestest, Funnest Ever! yet from Holly Homer and Rachel Miller? That’s right – the authors of the amazing Kids Activities Blog now have a book. The first thing Aiden made from the book was craft stick puzzles. Next, we made the craft stick domino game. 101 Kids Activities
Holly and Rachel sent me a copy of 101 Kids Activities That Are the Bestest, Funnest Ever!: The Entertainment Solution for Parents, Relatives & Babysitters! Aiden immediately wanted to look through the book to check it out. The cover is so inviting. How could he not?! He started choosing activities he wanted to do. First up was craft stick puzzles as he had just spend the afternoon working on his store bought puzzles. Then, he wanted to play the funnel golf game. He got out the materials {based on the picture since he can’t read yet} and started playing.
There are so many amazing activities in this book. Having read Kids Activities Blog for a long time {and even writing for them}, I expected to already be familiar with most of the activities. Nope. Holly and Rachel have come up with so many new, fresh activities. And they are so easy to do. For each activity, they give you modifications for younger children and modifications for older children. No matter the age of your child, there’s something in this book for you.
Craft Stick Domino Game
I showed Aiden the craft stick domino game in the book. He was excited to play it and wanted to help make it. Here’s what we used:
- Mini craft sticks {you could also use regular craft sticks or ice cream sticks}
- Markers {you could use paint or paint pens, too}
To create this game, simply color the ends of the craft sticks. Make patterns, or draw shapes, letters, numbers, or even words. To make it easy, we lined up the craft sticks and drew patterns or letters on them so they all matched.
For the numbers, I made several of each number {like a regular game of dominoes}.
For younger kids, you can use the craft sticks for a matching game. Here’s the capital A. Can you find the lower case A?
