Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
Get ready to be amazed! I’m sharing with you my famous chocolate chip cookies and the secret to making your own brown sugar! Are you excited? I am!!
Supplies:
Large mixing bowl
Small mixing bowl
Fork
Mixer
Baking sheet/cookie sheet
Parchment paper
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup (2 sticks) margarine, softened (I use Blue Bonnett)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar (see recipe for this below – you just need 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 2 1/4 teaspoons molasses)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (use the real stuff not imitation)
2 large eggs
2 cups (12 ounce package) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Make your own brown sugar:
- In your large mixing bowl, add 3/4 cup granulated sugar.
- Add 2 1/4 teaspoons of molasses.
- Using a fork, mix the molasses into the sugar.
- Voila! You having amazing brown sugar.
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F
- Combine flour, cocoa, and baking soda in a small bowl.
- To the brown sugar in your large mixing bowl, add 3/4 cup of sugar. Mix with a fork.
- Add the softened margarine and vanilla extract to the sugar. Beat with a mixer until creamy.
- Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually beat in flour mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips with a spoon.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until brown.
- Cool for a few minutes.
- Serve with ice cold milk, and enjoy!
Makes somewhere around 4 dozen cookies. {I don’t really pay that much attention.} It depends on what size you make them.
You can save the cookie dough for about a week – just be sure to put in a sealed container {if you don’t, the dough will dry out – sad day.}
Note: If you want regular chocolate chip cookies, just don’t add the cocoa. They are equally as yummy!
