Escape the Summer Heat with a Birthday Party at Chuck E. Cheese’s
If your child has a summer birthday, you may be planning on a pool party or a picnic at the park. It’s great to be able to hold your event outside, but what if the weather is bad? Or what if it’s just too miserably hot outside. I don’t know about where you live, but in Missouri, our weather is notoriously unpredictable. It makes planning outdoor birthday parties difficult.
My niece has a summer birthday and she’s had her share of pool parties. My sister usually ends up scheduling a weekday party because she can’t reserve the pool on the weekend. It’s just too popular. This often means not all of my niece’s friends get to attend. It’s stressful not being able to create the party you want.
That’s where Chuck E. Cheese’s comes in. Planning a party there is super easy. Just reserve your birthday party date, pick out one of Chuck E. Cheese party packages, invite your guests, and show up. The weather outside won’t put a damper on your birthday party fun!
Chuck E. Cheese’s has a few different party packages to choose from. Birthday packages start at just $14.99 per child and can be upgraded to All You Can Play for $3-7 more per kid. All parties come with pizza, drinks, game play, and helium balloons. The birthday star gets an exclusive play band, bonus tickets, birthday show recognition, and ticket blaster experience.
Their best value is the Mega Super Star Birthday Package ($24.99 per child), which includes All You Can Play games for each child in your party plus a goody bag, collectible cup, and Dippin’ Dots ice cream.
Chuck E. Cheese’s will decorate your table with their Chuck E. Cheese cups, pizza plates, and birthday plates. They also provide forks, napkins, and utensils. You can bring your own themed items if you prefer.
Don’t want to worry about the birthday cake? Let Chuck E. Cheese’s handle that, too! They offer chocolate or vanilla cakes available in two sizes. The 8″ round cake serves approximately 12 guests and the 1/4 sheet-size cake serves approximately 18-20 guests. Choose from one of your child’s favorite characters or Chuck E. to be on the cake.
Want the place to yourselves? Reserve a VIP Party on Saturday or Sunday and get the whole party area to yourself for one hour before the restaurant opens.
All You Can Play
All You Can Play is a new way to play at Chuck E. Cheese’s. Instead of a limited number of tokens, you pay for a certain amount of time. You get to play as many games as you want during that time.
On our latest visit, my family tried out the All You Can Play. Each of my 3 kids did 30 minutes of play. They had a blast. I loved not having to worry about how many tokens they had left. They could play one game over and over again or they could bounce around from game to game. When their time ran out, it was time to cash in their tickets and get a prize.
All You Can Play allows you to pause your game play once during your time. If you need a bathroom break or want to watch Chuck E.’s show, just head to the kiosk to pause your game play. Time starts again when you scan the card to play your next game.
Be sure to check their website or app for coupons and deals. We scored 2 cards each with 30 minutes of All You Can Play for $17.99 (the usual coupon is $19.99).
Kid Safety
I want to mention one last thing that impresses me about Chuck E. Cheese’s: child safety. They have a Kid Check system where the whole group checks in together. Everyone in the group receives a numbered stamp. You can’t leave unless you all have the same stamp. That means my kid can’t leave with someone else. They check everyone on the way out. They also have continuously recording security cameras and clean all play toys and equipment with a non-toxic, eco-friendly sanitizer. I feel safe taking my kids here.
