Christmas Star Math
Create an inviting math game with sparkly stars! Try these Christmas star math games with your kids. Work on pattern making, matching, and counting.
Christmas Star Math
CraftProjectIdeas.com sent us a box of craft goodies with supplies perfect for Christmas crafting. In the box were glittery stars of 3 colors {gold, silver, and white} and 3 different sizes. Aiden and started playing with the stars and came up with some fun ideas.
There were also some magnets in the box. Aiden wanted to turn the stars into magnets. Then, we used the magnetic stars in some math games on a metal tray. You could also use a magnet board or play without magnets all together.
Pattern Making with Christmas Stars
I created a simple ABAB pattern with the stars.
I asked Aiden to finish the pattern.
Then, we created a few more patterns together.
Matching Christmas Stars
I placed 3 stars on the tray.
I asked Aiden which star matched the top star. He chose a matching star. Then, we did the same with the other two stars.
Counting Christmas Stars
We also practiced counting the stars. Aiden rolled a die and determined the number of dots shown.
Then, he counted out the correct number of stars to match.
Keep watching for some science with the Christmas stars plus even more Christmas activities coming soon.
