Chalkboard Spiderweb Eggs that Glow
Making chalkboard spiderweb eggs is a super fun way to decorate Easter eggs. Make them extra special by using a chalk that glows under a black light. Affiliate links are included in this post.
Chalkboard Spider Web Eggs that Glow
Aiden saw chalkboard painted eggs at the store and wanted to decorate them. I thought that was a fun idea and an easy shortcut. They are paper-mache eggs similar to the ones we used for our artist inspired Easter eggs. You can also paint your own eggs with chalkboard paint – just remove the insides of the egg first. (Red Ted Art has a tutorial for Easter egg blowing if you need it.)
In addition to the chalkboard painted eggs, you’ll need chalk. Regular chalk makes for lovely spiderwebs. We used Neon Sidewalk Chalk to make our spiderwebs glow under a black light.

Once you have your chalkboard eggs, the next step is to draw spiderwebs on them. Easy, right?
I drew spiderwebs on some of our eggs. Aiden drew pictures on the rest. He didn’t want to try drawing spiderwebs as he thought it looked difficult. I tried to show him how to draw circles on a piece of paper and then draw lines through the circles. He didn’t like the idea.
If you use neon chalk, the spiderwebs will glow under a UV light. Well, most of the colors anyway.
Pink glows under a UV light.
So does orange.
And yellow.
And green.
Blue? Not so much.
And here are some of Aiden’s eggs under the black light.
Our spiderweb eggs go perfectly with our Spider-Man Easter basket (sponsored by Disney).
How will you be decorating Easter eggs this year?
