Box Tops for Education

What is Box Tops for Education and what does it mean to your school? My son is starting kindergarten this year, so we are learning about Box Tops for Education. I’ve never known much about the program before (I taught high school), but it’s a super easy way for schools to receive money from General Mills® just for participating.
Box Tops for Education
How Does it Work?
Each box tops is worth 10 cents for your child’s school. Find box tops on hundreds of products. (See the product list here.)
Here we found Yoplait® Go-GURT® at Walmart. Something we buy all the time. I had never noticed the box tops. It’s a good idea to double check the list for products you already buy.
Send the box tops to your school. A lot of schools have a collection box in the school. Other schools ask you to give the box tops to your child’s teacher. Make sure you don’t send in box tops that are expired. (Ripped or torn box tops are fine as long as the expiration date is visible.)
What Does it Mean for Your School?
K-8 schools turn in box tops and receive money from General Mills® twice a year (in December and April). Schools can use the donation for whatever they want. Our elementary school’s goal is to collect $1,000 worth of box tops this year. Box Tops for Education has contributed over $525 million to participating schools since the launch of the program in 1996. Over 80,000 K-8 schools participate making it one of America’s largest school earnings loyalty programs.
