Best of 2012 Kids Activities
Last week I shared with you my favorite posts in a look back at 2012 on Inspiration Laboratories. I saved my most popular science and play post for today as part of the Best of 2012 Blog Hop.
What Can You Learn from A Cardboard Tube?
This post is one of my favorites {as well as yours}. It is a great example of play-based learning. While exploring the cardboard tube, my son was gaining experiences and forming that precious thing we teachers call prior knowledge {the goal in our lessons is to use that prior knowledge to form connections to the current concepts}. And let’s not forget about the fun! Aiden still plays with the cardboard tube {yes we moved it with us from Florida}.
So what exactly did you like about this post? {I would love for you to tell me in the comments.}
- Did you like the fun play idea?
- Did you like how it was an example of building prior knowledge {building the foundation for future learning}?
- Did you like the science connection?
- Did you like the questioning and investigating?
- Did you like the bonus clean-up tip?
