Bear Paw Alphabet Tracks

This week’s Virtual Book Club for Kids theme is all about bears. The featured book is Time to Sleep by Denise Fleming. We had fun playing a few letter games with bear paw alphabet tracks. It was a great way for all 3 kids to be involved in the activity. Also be sure to check out all of the other bear themed activities at the end of the post. Affiliate links are included in this post.

What You’ll Need:

Print and cut out the bear paws. The PDF file has uppercase letters and numbers 1-10. Create a simple cave with an empty box or table.

Print out the bear paw alphabet tracks.

Make a trail of bear paw prints around the room leading up to the bear cave.

Have your child follow the bear tracks saying the letters as she walks. You could also work on letter sounds.

Encourage her to crawl into the cave and have a look around. (A bear hat makes it even more fun.) Ask her to come of out of the cave and find a letter. Where is the letter E?

Take the activity one step further and use some magnetic letters (or whatever you have on hand – foam letters, puzzle pieces, paper letters, etc.) to play a matching game. Match the magnetic letters to the bear tracks.

Initially, I created the bear paw alphabet tracks activity for toddler Lily to practice her letters. Big brother Aiden (age 7) and little brother Elon (9 months) wanted to play, too. Aiden helped Lily find different letters. Elon enjoyed crawling around on the kitchen floor all over the bear paws. Both of them tried out the cave as well.
