5 Easy Ways to Top Your Popcorn {Perfect for Family Movie Night}
Movie night is a special occasion in our family. It’s not often that Aiden gets to stay up and watch a new movie. Not only was he excited for movie night, he was also excited about trying some special popcorn. Thanks to Pop Secret for sponsoring these 5 easy ways to top your popcorn.
5 Easy Ways to Top Your Popcorn
Make your popcorn extra special by adding one of these easy toppings. Better yet, try all of them and have a popcorn tasting party.
We used Pop Secret 94% Fat Free Butter. I liked that it was lightly salted and lightly buttered – perfect for adding other toppings. If you like to pop your own popcorn, check out our popcorn recipe and experiment.
1. Chocolate
Melt a handful of chocolate chips in the microwave on 50% power for a minute. Stir. Continue to microwave at 30 second intervals until the chocolate is melted.
Drizzle the chocolate onto your popcorn. Add in another handful of chocolate chips for even more chocolate goodness.
2. Cheese
My standard popcorn topping has always been cheese. I love freshly grated Parmesan or even the powered kind (it coats the popcorn quite nicely). What kinds of cheese do you prefer?
3. Herbs and Spices
Head to your spice cabinet and see what strikes your fancy. I like to add Italian seasoning. My husband likes to add garlic salt. You could also try pepper, or what about cumin or paprika? Those sound lovely.
4. Pistachios or other Nuts
This one was my favorite topping. Adding pistachios gave the popcorn a little something extra but didn’t take away from the already delicious popcorn.
5. Cinnamon and Sugar
This was Aiden’s idea. I questioned it at first, but it is surprisingly good. If you enjoy cinnamon and sugar on other things, you’ll like it on your popcorn, too. I mixed some cinnamon and sugar up in a bowl and sprinkled it on top of the popcorn.
How do you like your popcorn?
Aiden likes to eat his while sitting against a pile of pillows and blankets from his bed and reading area {more on those later}.
