Outside Play: Water
What is the perfect solution to a hot summer day? Water! Head outside and play. I’m joining JDaniel4′s Mom for a Playing Outside Blog Hop. This month our theme is water! My son, Aiden (age 2.5), loves water play – in the bathtub, in the sink, in a bucket on the floor, and especially outside. Here’s a fun and simple water play activity we enjoyed.
Water Play: Fun with Funnels
Materials:
- buckets/containers of water
- measuring cups
- funnels
- bottles or other narrow mouth containers
How to Play:
Go outside, set out materials, and watch as your children have fun. Be prepared to supply more water upon request.
Practicing using funnels and measuring cups are great skills for the future.
When Aiden emptied all of the water from his buckets, he decided to stack them up. Another fun idea – with or without water!
This month’s co-hosts are JDaniel4′s Mom, Rainy Day Mum, Two Big Two Little, Train Up a Child, Mama Pea Pod, and Inspiration Laboratories. Be sure to check out their fun ideas for playing outside with water.
