Chocolate Dipped Spider Web Waffles

Delicious News! Eggo waffles and pancakes now have no artificial flavors and colors from natural sources. I’m so glad companies like Kellogg’s® are choosing to make these changes in their products.

You can find the new Eggo waffles and pancakes at Walmart in the frozen breakfast aisle.

For today’s Halloween dessert recipe, we’re using Kellogg’s® Eggo® Spider-Man Mixed Berry Marvel waffles. They are shaped like spider webs. How cool!

Recipe Ingredients

  • Kellogg’s® Eggo® Spider-Man Mixed Berry Marvel waffles
  • White chocolate chips
  • Candy melts (we used black candy melts and dark cocoa candy melts)
  • Candy/chocolate spiders (we used a spider candy mold to make ours)

This is an easy recipe for kids to help. Do take care when melting the chocolate and candy melts. That’s a job for an adult. If you allow your kids to use the toaster, be sure to supervise and make sure they’re using it safely.

After you toast your waffles, you’ll need to get the chocolate and candy melts ready. Follow the melting directions on the package. I used a melting pot to make it a little easier, but you can also use the microwave.

Cover your spider web waffles with chocolate. Spread the chocolate on with a spatula or a spoon. Allow the chocolate to cool.

Place melted white chocolate into a small squeeze bottle. If needed you can thin the melted chocolate with melted shortening. This can help the chocolate flow from the squeeze bottle more easily. Trace the spider web lines on the waffle.

Reverse the colors. Spread white chocolate on the waffles and draw spider webs with melted chocolate.

You can also dip the waffles in melted chocolate. Add a thin layer of melted chocolate to a plate. Place the spider web waffles into the melted chocolate. The goal is to only coat the spider webs with chocolate leaving the background waffle visible.

Adding candy spiders to your chocolate dipped spider webs is an extra special touch. Pour melted candy melts into a spider candy mold. Place in the refrigerator to set.
