Children’s Book Week

This week is Children’s Book Week. I thought I would gather a bunch of our book activities in one post.

Cave Play inspired by Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson

Searching for Animal Homes {My Very First Book of Animal Homes by Eric Carle}

Are You My Mother? Storytelling with Props {P.D. Eastman}

Outdoor Sound Hunt Inspired by Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? Dr. Seuss’s Wonderful Book of Noises

Focus on Reading {a 4 part series written by my friend, a speech-language pathologist} includes strategies for maximizing the benefits of reading time with your little ones and a list of books for various development stages.

I try to make connections to books whenever I can.  A Nature Walk with Daddy shows two examples of how we connected things we read in our books to things we saw outside.

I also enjoy collecting other people’s ideas inspired by books.  Check out my Inspired by a Book board on Pinterest!

There’s an awesome link party going on right now hosted by Mom to 2 Posh Lil Divas, Reading ConfettiSmiling Like SunshineCarrots Are OrangeTeach Preschool, and Toddler Approved.  Search for some new ideas or add your own.  Go here.
